Careers at 4.digital
Founding Sales Partner
The oldest arrangement in business. We need someone to bring us customers, and we pay well for the work, for as long as the customer stays. There is no salary at the beginning, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Apply nowThe situation
We will not dress this up. 4.digital is a new search marketing agency, with a website we are proud of and no customers yet. The work is real and the services are real. What is missing is the person who sells them.
This is not a sales position inside an established house. It is the chance to be the first commercial person in a business. To build the pipeline rather than inherit one, and to write the book on how the thing is sold rather than follow somebody else's.
The role
You will own the whole of it. Finding the prospects, running the conversations, writing the proposals, closing the deals. Search, paid media, digital PR and measurement, sold to businesses across the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia.
In time, you will hire and lead those who come after you. That office is earned rather than granted, and we would rather build it together than hang an org chart on the wall that nobody works in.
The deal, in plain terms
Thirty per cent
Of the service fees we actually collect from the clients you personally bring in and close. Paid every month while the customer stays, the money arrives and you remain with us. It stops when you leave, and whatever was collected before then is paid to you in full. A deal that says what it means.
No salary at the beginning
There is no revenue to pay one from. When recurring revenue can carry it, a salary joins the commission. We will not invent a date for that, and you would not believe us if we did.
A share in the building
For the right long-term partner, an ownership stake is on the table. In writing, with vesting and the dull parts spelled out, when both sides have earned that conversation.
Where you work
No office, no clock to punch, no theatre of busyness. What matters is that you sell well in the markets you cover and that a prospect hears back the same day. The rest is your own business.
Who we have in mind
Someone who has sold SEO, paid media, digital marketing or services of comparable weight, and has the marks to show for it. Who has built a pipeline from nothing rather than fed from one already laid. Who wants ownership and upside more than a predictable payslip.
The title on your last contract interests us little. What you sold, what it took to sell it, and what you would do here first, that interests us a great deal.
How to apply
Tell us what you have sold, the deals you won yourself rather than inherited, the markets you know, and why an arrangement without a salary appeals to you. No curriculum vitae required. We read for the thinking, not the typography.

Questions, answered straight
Is there a base salary?
No, not at the beginning. 4.digital is young and there is no revenue to pay a salary from. The intention is to introduce one as soon as recurring revenue supports it. We would rather say that plainly than bury it among paragraphs about competitive packages.
What exactly does the 30% apply to?
The service fees we collect from the clients you personally bring in and close. Not the media budgets that pass through to the platforms. Not clients you did not bring in. Not invoices no one has paid. Thirty per cent of what lands, for every month the client stays.
Does the commission continue if I leave?
No. It runs while you are with the business and the client is still paying. Anything collected before you leave is paid to you in full. What we will not do is pay a commission to someone who has moved on. What we hope is never to have the question.
What about equity?
Real, but later and in writing. We would rather earn that conversation together than put a number in an advert. If the fit is right, the terms get agreed properly, with vesting and the dull parts spelled out.
Where is the role based?
Nowhere in particular. 4.digital is remote by design and our clients are spread across the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Australia. What matters is that you sell well in the markets you cover, and that a prospect hears back the same day.
Not the role you are after, but interested in what we are building? Say hello anyway.
